Event narrative
The Elk Meadows Subdivision, 6 miles northwest of Cle Elem had water overspread the area on November 6th with the Yakima River rising about 2 feet. The water continued to rise with the roads covered by the morning of the 7th. The water receded back into the river on the 9th.
Wider weather episode
A series of unusually wet and warm weather systems moved over the region during the first 10 days of the month, producing record rainfall over the crest of the Washington Cascades and pushed the Naches and Yakima Rivers above flood stage at two locations and near flood stage at several other locations.
