A waterspout was sighted east of Atlantic City during a helicopter deck landing exercise on the United States Coast Guard Cutter Diligence. No damage was reported.

The intersection of a gust front and an approaching thunderstorm from the south produced sufficient low level shear for a waterspout to develop east of Atlantic City during the early evening on the 1st.
