Thunderstorm winds capsized a pontoon boat on Lake Moultrie near the Pinopolis Dam. Six people were thrown into the water. Law enforcement has confirmed one death (indirect) and five injuries (indirect).

With a high amplitude long wave trough aloft, and with a cold front positioned to the north, scattered severe thunderstorms developed in the late morning and early afternoon hours.
