Wider weather episode
An upper level storm system, which had meandered over Texas and Oklahoma for about two weeks...drifted northeast into southeastern Kansas between the 28th and 30th of June. Copius amounts of moisture and the slow movement of the system, led to tremendous rainfall totals over portions of west central Missouri. Major flooding resulted and river levels reached near historic highs. Three day rainfall totals ranged from 6 to 15 inches.
