Event narrative

Winds were estimated to be at least 40 knots as thunderstorms moved across the lake. Wind equipment just south of the area measured a wind gust of 52 knots as thunderstorms passed over the area.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved through the area during the afternoon and early evening hours of the 8th. Numerous severe thunderstorms developed ahead and along this cold front. Severe weather occurred throughout northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. Some of the storms also tracked over Lake Erie during the afternoon and early evening hours.
