On the 13th, a 998 mb low dropped south over the central Arctic Ocean north of Prudhoe Bay, then reach Barter Island at 3am the 14th filling to 1005 mb, after which it dissipated rapidly. westerly winds picked up to 35 to 45 mph, but the Mesonet site at Umiat on the North Slope recorded a maximum gust of 53 knots (61 mph).
