Event narrative

A waterspout was observed approximately three miles to the north of Key Colony Beach. The waterspout consistent of a narrow funnel cloud tilted 30 degrees from the vertical, was nearly stationary, with development and dissipation episodic. A rain shaft from a nearby rain shower was observed in close proximity to the waterspout.

Wider weather episode

Southerly flow produced convective streamers through the Florida Keys, with a few waterspouts reported. The waterspouts developed near rain showers which were enhanced by an upper low pressure system near the east central coast of Florida.
