The US-6 at Eureka sensor recorded strong winds for several hours, with a peak wind gust of 68 mph.
Wider weather episode
A strong and unseasonably cold storm system moved into Utah beginning October 22. Strong southwesterly winds were observed ahead of the storm, and heavy snow was observed across primarily northern Utah. Progressively colder air moved into the state through the event, with heavy snow eventually reaching the valley floors of northern Utah and causing some tree damage.
