Event narrative

The ASOS in Durant began reporting dense fog with visibilities of a quarter mile around 1 AM. The fog lasted through late morning, causing at least one fatality accident around 830 AM. The accident occurred along U.S. Highway 69 and 75.

Wider weather episode

A cold front stalled near the Red River in southern Oklahoma on the morning of the 24th. As the front encountered increasing moisture, dense fog developed over portions of southern and eastern Oklahoma. One fatality occurred as the result of an automobile accident.
