A band of precipitation came through the coastal and northern mountains beginning Christmas morning and ending the following morning. Rain amounts were between 0.25 to 1.00 inch. Snow data were unavailable for this zone. Snow estimates were approximately 6-8 for the storm total above 2500-3000 feet, which did not meet the warning criteria for the time period.

Wider weather episode

Another strong winter storm brought an additional 1/2 to over 2 feet of heavy snow to the mountains and gusty winds 40-50+ mph to the Sierra Nevada Christmas Day into the morning of December 26th. Rainfall amounts in lower elevations ranged from 0.50 inches to 2.25 inches.
