Estimated northwest winds of 40 mph or greater occurred for 2 hours across portions of Crane County. Sustained winds of 40 mph and gusts near 60 mph occurred at surrounding sites in adjacent counties.

Wider weather episode

A strong cutoff low moved over New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle, and resulted in blizzard conditions to the north of the upper low track and strong winds and blowing dust across West Texas.
