Event narrative

WSB Television of Atlanta reported that a 27-year old male construction worker was killed when struck by lightning. The individual was working on a house under construction. He and other workers sought shelter in the structure during the thunderstorm.

Wider weather episode

June 25th proved to be one of the more significant severe weather days during the month. This was the result of a strong short wave in westerly flow aloft and a very unstable and moist atmosphere present over the area. Damaging downburst winds, large hail, and most significantly a number of lightning incidents were reported.
