Strong and gusty north to northeast winds were reported across the Santa Monica Mountains. A sensor at Malibu Peak reported sustained winds between 40 and 48 MPH with gusts between 61 and 64 MPH.

Wider weather episode

Strong north to northeast winds developed in the wake of a cold storm system. Wind gusts as high as 70 MPH were reported across the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
