Numerous trees and power lines along Tyler Street and nearby parallel streets between 19th Avenue and 23rd Avenue were knocked down by thunderstorm winds. Two vehicles and one residence were damaged by the falling trees. In one of the vehicles crushed by falling trees, one of the occupants was killed and another seriously injured.

Scattered strong to severe pulse type thunderstorms developed across southeast Louisiana in a very unstable atmosphere in the vicinity of a trough of low pressure.
