Event narrative

A civilian worker's body was found in Cowhouse Creek downstream from where his vehicle was pulled from the water. The man had gone missing after a fireworks show. At the time, Cowhouse Creek was over five feet above flood stage.

Wider weather episode

An upper level low pressure system situated in west Texas interacted with high moisture across the region. This resulted in more instances of flooding as rain fell on already saturated grounds and full reservoirs.
