Strong northerly winds developed across the Santa Clarita Valley. The RAWS sensor at Saugus reported wind gusts between 59 and 79 MPH.
Wider weather episode
An extended northerly wind event developed across Southwestern California. The combination of strong northerly (offshore) pressure gradient and strong winds above the surface produced northerly wind gusts between 65 and 85 MPH across sections of Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
