Wider weather episode
Sufficient instability existed across the region to allow for the development of a line of showers that moved across southern Lake Michigan. While the convection was not able to grow sufficiently to produce lightning, the line did tap strong winds in the lower levels. This allowed for isolated gusts in excess of 50 mph as the line came ashore.
