Event narrative

Heavy snowfall occurred across much of the Uinta Basin, with Altamont recording 6 inches of new snow.

Wider weather episode

A slow-moving and moist storm system moved through Utah beginning on April 8. Heavy snow fell across much of the higher terrain and a few valley locations. In addition, strong downslope winds developed along the Wasatch Front, causing damage across the area.
