A 43 mph wind gust was recorded at the Michigan City GLERL marine weather site.
Wider weather episode
A squall line extended from northeastern Illinois into Arkansas. The northern portion of this line moved over southern Lake Michigan, but was slowly weakening as it moved east. Strong winds were recorded at the Michigan City GLERL site as it came onshore. Once inland, no severe weather occurred.
