A tree was blown down onto two cars. One man was killed.

A short wave mid level trough was lingering over the southeast region. A piece of energy traveled over the area during peak heating and this instability and forcing combined with adequate mean layer moisture and forcing from the sea breezes spawned scattered afternoon and evening severe storms.
