Moderate to locally heavy rain of 0.25 to 0.50 inches resulted in cherry damage across portions of southern Grant County.
Wider weather episode
Significant rainfall resulted in damage to cherry crops across several orchards in Grant, Chelan, and Spokane counties. It was reported that up to approximately fifteen to twenty five percent of the cherry orchards were damaged. The Bing variety of cherries was hardest hit due to severe cracking of fruit. CocoRahs observers across the area reported between 0.25 and 0.50 inches of rainfall. One helicopter pilot was injured when the low-flying aircraft clipped bird netting and crashed in southern Grant County.
