An early morning low end derecho moved through the region on the 13th which caused strong to severe thunderstorms to develop. The derecho moved off the New Jersey coast by late morning leaving a boundary across parts of the region. Later in the day, a strong low pressure system brought a cold front through the region, which sparked off more strong to severe thunderstorms across the area.
Multiple wind gusts in excess of 34 knots were reported across the area waters. Wind gusts included 61 knots in Dewey Beach (Sussex County), 50 knots in Tuckerton (Ocean County), 40 knots in Brick (Ocean County), 39 knots in Sandy Hook (Monmouth County), 37 knots in Ocean City (Cape May County) and 36 knots in West Atlantic City (Atlantic County).
