Event narrative

A couple beach-goers posted videos on the Facebook page of a broadcast media outlet of a waterspout coming onshore at Fort Myers Beach near the fishing pier at the end of Old San Carlos Boulevard. The circulation briefly existed as a weak land spout on the beach. Times were very roughly estimated based on radar.

Wider weather episode

Southwest flow fed sea breeze storms over western Florida late in the afternoon. A couple of these storms produced waterspouts, one of which made it to shore as a tornado.
