The combination of heat and humidity, caused afternoon heat indices, to be in the 100 to 106 degree range. As a result, one person in Kansas City died from the effects of the heat. F85PH.

An upper level ridge of high pressure, allowed hot and humid conditions to prevail across west central Missouri, on June 26th and 27th, 2013. Afternoon heat indices were in the 100 to 106 degrees range.
