The observer near Cooks measured over five inches of rainfall over an approximate 24-hour period. Over five inches of rain also fell in Manistique.

An upper trough deepening over the Great Lakes generated thunderstorms with heavy rain over portions of west and central Upper Michigan from the 25th into the 26th. Some of the storms turned severe over Gogebic and Dickinson counties on the 25th.
