A pair of drownings occurred off Panama City Beach on July 20th, which were separate events. One of the drownings included a former Auburn Univ basketball player and received some news reporting. Multiple rescues were also reported. Bay county was flying Double Red flags at the time, and the NWS had a high risk in effect.
