The wider storm
A ridge axis north of Florida brought southeast flow to the area with deep moisture and sea breeze convergence over the western half of the Florida peninsula. Afternoon and early evening thunderstorms produced damaging wind gusts in the Tampa Bay area and southern Nature Coast.
