Event narrative

Dense fog formed over interior sections of South Florida during the early morning hours. This caused an accident involving six vehicles on Immokalee Road in interior Northern portions of Collier County.

One person, a 38-year-old man, was killed when his pickup truck collided head-on with a Collier Area Transit Bus. This then caused a six-vehicle pileup on Immokalee Road. Three other people sustained minor injuries.
