The Kalispell International airport tower observer estimated half dollar sized hail. Out of at least 5 vehicles damaged, one cost $5,600 to repair.

Wider weather episode

A 50 to 60 knot mid-level jet maximum associated with an upper level low over central Washington moved into northwest Montana by the mid-afternoon on September 6, 2013. This triggered thunderstorms that mainly brought hail and rain to the Kalispell area.
