Event narrative
Convection, without lightning, enhanced already high gradient winds in and near Eads, causing numerous trees limb to come down. Minor damage was also done to fences, outbuildings, and houses.
Wider weather episode
A strong weather disturbance caused moderate to heavy mountain snow accumulations, mainly across and near the Continental Divide. The eastern San Juan mountains tallied over 8 inches of snow. The disturbance also caused a high wind episode across the eastern mountains and southeast Colorado plains. Gradient winds gusted over 60 mph. Those winds, coupled with thunderstorms across the southeast plains, caused some damage.
