Event narrative

Heavy rainfall caused widespread flash flooding with impacts mainly to roads across Washington county. Numerous dirt roads were damaged and some homes may have been affected by water. Monetary damage was estimated.

Wider weather episode

Another round of major flash flooding occurred across parts of northwest Florida during the middle of August as an upper level trough developed west of the area with a continuous moisture feed off of the Gulf of Mexico streaming northward into the area. This flooding hit many of the same areas impacted by the July flooding.
