A trained spotter reported 13 inches of snow near Story. Snowfall totals on SNOTEL were around one foot west of Ft. Phil Kearny.
Wider weather episode
Another early season snowstorm moved through central Wyoming and brought heavy snow to the Bighorn Mountains. Moist north to northwest flow aloft provided about a 24-hour period of snow, especially across the northern half of the range. Snowfall estimates totaled about one foot. Gusty northerly wind of 20 to 40 mph was common throughout the storm.
