Waterspout reported 5 miles SE of South Padre Island (distance estimated). The waterspout was visible on the South Padre Island Beach Camera. The waterspout remained offshore for its duration and caused no damage.

Wider weather episode

A moist and unstable atmosphere produced an area of showers over the lower Texas coastal waters. The combination of moisture combined with light winds near the surface produced a waterspout over the nearshore Gulf of Mexico waters east of South Padre Island on the morning of September 4th.
