Navajo National Monument reached a high of 91 which broke the record high of 90 for the day last set in 1996.

Wider weather episode

A strong ridge of high pressure developed over California and Arizona for several days. This brought very hot conditions to northern Arizona with many locations breaking daily high temperature records.
