A man working on a billboard in the 4700 Block of 27th Avenue was struck by lightning and later died from his injuries.

Thunderstorms moved into northwest Indiana during the late morning and early afternoon of September 19th producing deadly lightning. Later in the afternoon, a supercell developed producing large hail and damaging winds.
