Visibilities were reduced to less than one quarter mile for an extended period of time in the town of Badger and across the Webster County area.

Wider weather episode

Dense fog formed across much of central Iowa during the early morning hours of the 30th and continued through the mid to late morning hours. Visibilities were reduced to less than one quarter mile in the widespread dense fog. Many locations reported near zero visibilities. One fatality occurred when a vehicle driven by a 90 year old male in the town of Badger missed a turn at a T-intersection and instead continued straight. The car left the road and hit a trailer that was parked in a parking lot.
