One to 2 feet of snow fell on the highway to Mt Baker and on the higher elevations of US Highway 2 near Stevens Pass.
Wider weather episode
A vigorous Pacific frontal system, followed by strong westerly flow, brought 1 to 2 feet of snow to the mountains. The snow fell mainly at elevation 4000 feet and above. It was the first heavy mountain snow of the season and closed several highway passes across the Cascades.
