A 22 year old male was struck and killed by lightning while walking along the beach. His mother who was walking with him was also struck by lightning and injured.

A weak frontal boundary in combination with sea breeze and numerous low level boundaries in a highly unstable environment resulted in numerous showers and thunderstorms across the region.
