Event narrative

There were a few reports of snowfall meeting warning criteria, especially at lower elevations. Chain restrictions were required on some of the main roads and numerous traffic accidents were reported on these roads.

Wider weather episode

The first snowstorm of the season dropped snowfall over parts of Northwest California. Snow levels were low. This resulted in chain restrictions on the higher elevation roads.
