A 16 foot pleasure craft took on water during the early evening hours of November 22nd, in the Brownsville Ship Channel, near the Jaime J. Zapata Memorial Boat Ramp A Gale Warning was in effect and gale force wind gusts were recorded at nearby KSPL and the South Padre Island Coast Guard Station. Three men were rescued from the swamped boat with no injuries reported.

Modified polar air swept from western Canada and across the Lower Texas Coastal Waters on the afternoon of November 22nd. Strong northerly winds behind the front brought gale force winds for several hours after the frontal passage. The gale force winds led to a boat taking on water in the Laguna Madre late that afternoon.
