An intense storm moved into the eastern Bering Sea producing strong wind and snow across the Kuskokwim Delta. This storm produced strong wind across the Alaska Peninsula to Kodiak Island into south central Alaska and resulted in dramatic warming across Alaska. This storm brought heavy rain to Kodiak Island resulting in 5 land slides along the road from the Coast Guard Base west. This also produced some minor flooding in Kodiak. Heavy rain fell over western Prince William Sound and in the Chugach Mountains destabilizing the snow pack in the mountains triggering avalanches.
