Highway department personnel reported a tree downed by high wind 1 mile west-northwest of Tellico Plains along New Providence Road.

Wider weather episode

High non-thunderstorm wind developed over the area. The strongest wind were reported over the higher elevations. The highest wind reached 90 mph at Cove Mountain. Downed trees were the main reports.
