Event narrative

Wind chill temperatures of 10 below to 19 below zero prevailed during the morning. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's office reported a probable cold weather death of a man who was found outside his home in his wheelchair in the city of Milwaukee. He was only partially clothed, and also suffered from Schizophrenia. It is believed he left his home sometime between 11 pm on January 2nd to 6 am on January 3rd. He was pronounced dead at 7:45 am.

Arctic air and winds of 5 to 10 mph resulted in wind chill temperatures ranging mainly from 15 below to 30 below zero across southern Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported two probable cold-related deaths, one in Milwaukee County and one in Marquette County.
