Wind Chill temperatures ranged from 20 below to 29 below zero during the morning hours. The Marquette County Coroner pronounced a disabled woman dead of hypothermia at 9:30 am. She was found in her driveway, and appeared to have fallen and was not able to stand back up. Her cane was found about 10 feet away from her. She would have fallen anytime from the evening of January 2nd to the morning of January 3rd. Her home was located near Lawrence Lake, just west of Westfield.

Arctic air and winds of 5 to 10 mph resulted in wind chill temperatures ranging mainly from 15 below to 30 below zero across southern Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported two probable cold-related deaths, one in Milwaukee County and one in Marquette County.
