The wider storm

A fast-moving upper disturbance produced locally heavy snow over portions of the Continental Divide. Six inches of snow was measured around Independence Pass (Lake County) and 18 miles south of North Pass (Saguache County). Nine inches of snow was recorded 8 miles north of Platoro (Rio Grande County).
