Event narrative
Heavy rain producing thunderstorms caused flash flooding across a forest service road between Highway 133 and the Avalanche Creek Campground. About 3 feet of debris was deposited on the road in the wake of the flash flood. Dozens of campers were stranded in the campground until the next day.

An influx of monsoonal moisture resulted in an outbreak of heavy rain producing thunderstorms.
