Event narrative
Temperatures fell below freezing during the early morning hours of February 12th. The COOP observer in Sarita reported a low of 29 degrees and the COOP observer in Armstrong reported a low of 31 degrees.
Wider weather episode
The last in a series of cold fronts drove shallow, Canadian air into the region February 11th. Skies cleared across portions of the Valley early on the 12th. Temperatures dropped a few degrees from their overnight values in the upper 30s to around 40 and slipped to or below freezing across ranchlands and brush country.
