Event narrative
Several intense snowbands oriented north/south resulted in heavy snowfall of 7 to 14 inches across the area. Several accidents occurred on I-90 between Billings and Laurel. One accident on I-90 in Laurel resulted in a fatality.

Arctic air, combined with a strong disturbance within a Northwest flow aloft, resulted in
heavy snow across the Billings Forecast Area.
