February 2014 was the 9th driest on record for New Mexico, as a predominately dry northwest flow pattern prevailed statewide. As a result, significant long- and short-term drought intensified across New Mexico. Reservoir storage was barely just over half of normal. Severe or worse drought covered nearly two-thirds of New Mexico, an increase of nearly 15 percent as compared to the previous month.
