The Weatherflow mesonet sites at Block Island Jetty and Point Judith, RI measured wind gusts to 61 mph and 52 mph, respectively.
Wider weather episode
A warm front moved northward into southern New England bringing warm air and unstable air into the region. Showers and a few thunderstorms developed as a cold front moved into the unstable air, particularly over the waters.
